Conference theme: Smoothing the Bumpy Road – on Gender Microaggression

Invited speakers:

    Title of speech: Characterizing the complex chemistry of exoplanet atmospheres with virtual laboratories and space telescopes

  • Adrienne Lorelei Traxler, University of Copenhagen, Department of Science Education
    Title of speech: Counting and context: Gender, physics, and methods in tension

The conference will feature speakers from each of the Nordic countries presenting their research in various fields of physics, as well as speakers on gender and diversity topics. Young scientists particularly are encouraged to present their work.

NORNDiP Conference 2023

Nordic Network for Diversity in Physics - Annual Conference

We are pleased to announce the 5th Annual Conference of the Nordic Network for Diversity in Physics, NORNDiP. It will take place at the historical Niels Bohr Institute in Copenhagen, Denmark on:

May 24th and 25th, 2023

Conference Theme: Starting a Career in Physics

The conference will feature speakers from each of the Nordic countries presenting their research in various fields of physics, as well as speakers on gender and diversity topics.

Registration is now open, and we invite you to submit your abstracts for a poster or short presentation. Presentations and posters can be on physics topics (any field) or gender-related topics, and we especially encourage young scientists to present their projects. Please click here to register for the conference and submit your abstract.

Attendance is free of charge, and all are welcome. NORNDiP aims to emphasize the importance of diversity as a resource and create a vibrant Nordic physics community for everyone.

Abstract submission is open until May 10th. Registration for the conference is open until May 15th.

Invited speakers are:

Anne L’Huillier, Professor of Atomic Physics at the Department of Physics, Lund University and recipient of the Wolf Prize in physics in 2022.

Liv Hornekær, Professor of Materials Science at the Department of Physics and Astronomy, Aarhus University and center leader of the Center for Interstellar Catalysis (InterCat).

Katrine Krogh Andersen, Dean of SCIENCE at University of Copenhagen.

Marie Valentin Beck, advisor of diversity and inclusion at BureauM, Copenhagen, who has helped develop a gender diversity strategy for the Niels Bohr Institute.

The Niels Bohr Institute is part of the Faculty of Science at University of Copenhagen and is located at Blegdamsvej 17, 2100 Copenhagen Ø, with easy access from the city center by bus or metro. Copenhagen city offers a wide range of hotels in any price class.

Nordic Network for Diversity in Physics - Annual Conference

The fourth edition of the NORNDiP conference was a conference in hybrid form.
It was be held in Reykjavik, Iceland on 18-19 August 2022 with the possibility of joining virtually on Zoom.

Virtual Conference in Celebration of International Women's Day

International Women’s Day on March 8th 2022 was celebrated with a one-day virtual conference with two keynote speakers (introduced below).
